With Ruan Rust confirming his appointment as Orlando Pirates' Head of Performance this week, insiders have informed the Siya crew why the Buccaneers have identified Stellenbosch as the perfect hunting ground for backroom staff.
While Pirates themselves are yet to confirm the appointment, Rust has confirmed that he will be forming part of the Soweto giants after six years at the Cape Winelands outfit.

This is in addition to the signing of Stellenbosch captain Deano Van Rooyen from a playing perspective.
Now, insiders have informed the crew why Pirates have been using Stellenbosch as a happy hunting ground in recent times.
"If you look over the last few years, Stellenbosch have been at the forefront of a number of technological enhancements both on and off the field, with regards to their recruitment, analysis, youth system, which has resulted in success for the team. Pirates are constantly looking to keep up with the best and set new trends themselves, and what better way to do it than to bring in the tried and tested and give them an opportunity to carry out the same duties, although with a bigger platform and some of the country's top talent to work with," the source said.
