Mamelodi Sundowns' Rivaldo Coetzee may have suffered another injury setback recently, but the Siya crew understands that this is unlikely to have a negative impact on his future at the club, with his contract coming to an end in June 2025.
Coetzee sustained an injury when he came on as a substitute in Sundowns' last Betway Premiership match against Cape Town City and it's unclear at this stage when he will return to the pitch.

Indications are that Sundowns are interested in holding onto the former Ajax Cape Town defender and talks over a new contract could commence in the second half of the campaign, before the season comes to an end.
The Siya crew understands that Coetzee's camp would like to have his future finalised before the end of the season, so it's expected that engagements will take place in the new year over a new deal. Sundowns, in the meantime, will be monitoring the player's progress to ensure that he can recover and make a return to help them in their bid to win the Premiership and CAF Champions League titles.
There's also the FIFA Club World Cup that the player is hoping to be part of, so it's understood that there is a lot of work being done behind the scenes to get back into the team.
Sundowns exercised the option in Coetzee's contract at the end of last season, holding onto a player they have shown a lot of patience with over the years, despite the injury setbacks he has had to overcome.

Sundowns, meanwhile, will be back in Premiership action on Wednesday when they take on Polokwane City for the second time within a fortnight. City are the only club to have beaten Sundowns in the league this season.
