With Lesedi Kapinga expected to leave Mamelodi Sundowns before the start of the new season, indications are that the attacking player has a few options. The former Black Leopards man has struggled for regular game-time at the six-time consecutive league winners over the last three seasons, with the club preferring other players in the attacking positions which he is familiar to.
It was reported by the Siya crew that the skillful player was hoping for a move during the January transfer window, but a departure from Chloorkop did not materialize and it's now only a matter of time before an announcement is made on the next chapter in his career.
Orlando Pirates are understood to be interested in Kapinga, as reported by this publication, but indications are that TS Galaxy are monitoring the situation with the hope of securing the player's signature for the 2023/24 season. The Rockets are busy behind the scenes to finalise their squad after letting go of Given Msimango, Melusi Buthelezi and Ebrahim Seedat.
Last season, the 28-year-old made six appearances in all competitions, featuring just once in the starting line-up, in a Nedbank Cup tie against Richards Bay FC. With interest elsewhere in the Bafana Bafana international, Galaxy are not likely to have it easy, but the club has managed to pull off some big signings in recent times such as Bernard Parker, Xola Mlambo and Sibusiso Vilakazi, the latter having left the side halfway through last season.
