"There were scouts in Morocco who were following Emile (Witbooi). They are from Europe. They have shown interest in him and they enquired about him. You know he once went to Chelsea and this interest from the other European clubs just shows how good the boy is. So let's wait and see what happens in the next few months," the insider told Soccer Laduma.
A second insider noted that while many South African players impressed at the tournament, Witbooi stood out, attracting notable attention.
"What I can tell you is that the South African players impressed many people who were in Morocco and it was not only Emile who did very well but the main interest and the enquiry that was known was that of Emile Witbooi," the second insider revealed.
Witbooi has already made senior appearances for Cape Town City in the top flight of South African football, and is a regular for South Africa’s Under-17 national team, cementing his reputation as one of the country's brightest prospects.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Cape Town City CEO John Comitis confirmed the interest in Witbooi and hinted at a potential move on the horizon.
"Too much. And massive clubs. But it is still early. He is 16. But the club that is clever will do the deal now," Comitis told the Siya crew.
Witbooi’s exciting potential and international exposure suggest a bright future ahead, as European giants now monitor his development closely.
