Despite a 1-0 win for Davids' troops, the South African was not happy with the performance from his side and hoped his team was more clinical, SABC Sport reported.
"We're a big club, and we cannot be happy with a scoreline like this, especially when you really had clear moments to make it 2-0, 3-0, even 4-0," Davids said, according to SABC Sport.
"We have to be more clinical," the coach continued.
The former Maritzburg United player urged his team to realise the importance of playing in a continental semi-final and called for improvements.
"So we've really got to improve this performance – it's definitely not good enough, in terms of what the players can do, and believe me, my players will be ready for the return leg once we get to South Africa," Davids said.
According to Tanzania's Daily News, Davids said he would analyse what needed to be done to ensure his side qualified for the final.
"A draw in South Africa will take us to the final, yes — but we don’t play for draws," he said. We play to win. That’s the Simba way,” he added.
Despite Simba's poor track record in South Africa, the former Maritzburg United coach acknowledged his side's growth.
