A South African midfielder has helped his side secured promotion to EFL League One.

Port Vale secured promotion following a 2-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 26 April and attention now turns to capturing the League Two title. The Valiants sit in second place, one point behind Doncaster Rovers with one game left.
The Durban-born midfielder joined the side from AFC Wimbledon ahead of the 2023/24 season. The team was relegated from League One at the end of that season but was able to secure immediate promotion during the 2024/25 League Two season.
The 26-year-old has played 25 times in the league this season, scoring four times and adding three assists, according to Transfermarkt.
Vale's number 10 has been in and out of the team this season due to a family bereavement and injury struggles.
In March, Vale manager Darren Moore praised Chislett's abilities and his importance to the team.
"We know he is a quality player and, at the level we are at, he is a big player for us," Moore said of the South African.

"He has a huge part to play, like the rest of the players from now to the end of the season. But I am encouraging him that, as and when he gets back in the team, we see the old Ethan that we all know, the creative Ethan helping us to score and assist," he added.
