The story
On Friday, Mamelodi Sundowns secured their spot in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) final after a dramatic 1-1 draw against Al Ahly at the Cairo International Stadium.
The away goal, which was an own goal influenced by Iqraam Rayners late on, proved decisive, sending the South African side through after a challenging encounter.
Sundowns' upset result over holders Al Ahly on Friday earned them a place against another Egyptian club, Pyramids, in next month’s two-legged final.
It will be their first CAFCL final since winning it with Pitso Mosimane in 2016, and Miguel Cardoso's troops celebrated the win with wild but heartwarming celebrations.
In typical South African football fashion, the players and coaches passionately sang Gwijo songs in the change room after their on-pitch jubilation in front of the few Masandawana fans that made the long trip to Egypt.
