Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League final opponents have had their special request approved ahead of the Egyptian Cup Final.

Pyramids FC are set to take on Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in the Egyptian Cup Final but the Sky Blues made a special request following their qualification to the CAF Champions League final.
Egyptian publication Masrawy reported that the final was originally set for Tuesday 20 May 2025, just four days before the CAF Champions League final first leg in Pretoria.
The White Castle board released a statement to congratulate Pyramids on their qualification for the CAFCL final.
The statement also revealed they had approved the Sky Blues' request to postpone the Egyptian Cup final until after the CAF Champions League second leg final.
"The Zamalek Board of Directors extends its congratulations to Pyramids FC on the occasion of your first team reaching the final of this year's CAF Champions League,” Zamalek said.
"In the interest of the greater good of Egyptian football and the friendly relationship between Zamalek and Pyramids, we hereby notify you of our approval of your request to postpone the Egypt Cup final, which was scheduled for 20 May 2025, until after the second leg of the CAF Champions League final on 1 June 2025," the club added.

"We kindly request that the latest possible date for the final be set no later than 6 June, stemming from Zamalek's national duty in such occasions and in support of your club’s pursuit of the continental title," the club concluded.
