The sentencing decision has been made in the case involving Orlando Pirates midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch, the Siya crew has learnt.
After a few postponements, having been found guilty of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in June for an incident involving his ex-girlfriend Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala in 2020, Lorch has been handed a three-year suspended jail sentence.

The star has also been fined R100 000.
Lorch appeared in the Randburg magistrate's court this morning where it was also made clear that he should not be convicted of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm during the suspended five years.

The player was ordered to pay R100 000 to gender-based violence group, People Opposing Women Abuse.
Lorch had a case of assault opened against him by Mathithibala in September 2020 and he was released on R2 000 bail after being arrested by the police.
