"Orlando Pirates has reached an agreement for the loan transfer of Angolan international Gilberto to Petro de Luanda for the remainder of the season," the club announced on their website.
"The move sees Gilberto return to his hometown club, pending the successful completion of a medical."
The 23-year-old only joined the Buccaneers in the last transfer window from the Angolan outfit.
However, the attacking midfielder has now returned to Petro after just six months in South Africa, having racked up five appearances in the Betway Premiership.
