Sundowns made 10 changes to the side that thrashed Swallows in midweek, as Khuliso Mudau was only player to remain in the line-up, with Kermit Erasmus spearheading the attack along with Gaston Sirino, Neo Maema and Lesedi Kapinga.
The Brazilians had a dream start after Sirino opened the scoring in the eigth minute with a first-time shot in the six-yard box that slipped through goalkeeper Bongani Masoga's gloves.
Sundowns quickly went 2-0 up four minutes later as the unmarked Kapinga got on the end of Maema's cut-back before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.
The Brazilians should have been three goals to the good on the half-hour mark after Aubrey Modiba dribbled past Masoga in the box but his close-range shot was cleared off the line by Samuel Darpoh, while Teboho Mokoena also came close with a strike from range that rattled the top side of the crossbar.

Sundowns opened up the game by playing a high-line coming from the half-time break and they were nearly punished five minutes from the interval after Samkele Ngubane broke away clear on goal but he was denied by the post after getting past goalkeeper Ricardo Goss.
The Brazilians eventually put the game to bed after that as Erasmus made it 3-0 with a low strike across goal at the near post after a through ball by Sirino from a transition attack.
Summerfield were making errors trying to play from the back and fell further behind in the 64th minute after Erasmus completed his brace with a clinical first-time shot at the near post from Sirino's cross.
Erasmus did not have a chance to complete his hat-trick, as he was withdrawn just after that and replaced by Promise Mkhuma while in the last ten minutes Sundowns made a double tactical change, as Pavol Safranko and Mothobi Mvala entered the fray for Mudau and Maema.
Safranko made it 5-0 for the Brazilians with his first touch after guiding a free header past Masoga in the box from a cross by Sirino, as Sundowns joined Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Marumo Gallants in the semi-finals.
