SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says Mamelodi Sundowns' quality was the difference on the night.
SuperSport were dumped out of the MTN8 at the first hurdle after going down 2-0 to their Tshwane rivals at the TUKS Stadium.
Hunt claims his side had the better chances of the game, but feels Sundowns bringing on expensive players compared to SuperSport's young players was the difference.
"No, it wasn't a true reflection. I mean you know, I'm proud of the players. We had the best chances in the game, the ball was going across the six-yard box how many times the whole game?," Hunt told SuperSport after the game.
"You know, if you score… we can…you know and then obviously the ball goes through everybody...it takes a deflection, they get lucky. But as I say, look at our team we bringing on young kids – brilliant MDC player brilliant.
"They are bringing on multi-million dollar players you know. So, these kids they are great – I mean they were brilliant. I can't be more prouder of the players."
When asked about the missed chance, Hunt added, "Yeah, Bradley [Grobler] should've scored and they go at the other end and score. So that's the difference in football. But the quality will always tell. Tactically, I thought we were very good and then.
"But I thought the quality they going to wear you down somewhere along the line. All in all, I got to be proud of the players and we had so many opportunities.
"First half as well you know, broke out clear…the space was there but all in all. They had more quality."
