Bucs Rising Star Guides Promotion Chasers To Third Spot

Cape Town Spurs 2-0 All Stars

Cape Town Spurs climbed to third spot on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table after defeating All Stars at Athlone Stadium.

Ashley Cupido opened the scoring for Shaun Bartlett's side after just four minutes, taking his tally to nine league goals,

Boitumelo Radiopane, on loan from Orlando Pirates, bagged his third goal of the season to double Spurs' lead shortly before the break.

Uthongathi 1-2 Casric Stars

Casric Stars returned to winning ways in the league after defeating Uthongathi 2-1 at the Princes Magogo Stadium.

Kgomotso Mosadi was the star on the day after bagging a brace for the visitors, who have moved up to second spot.

Uthongathi, meanwhile, have slipped to seventh spot on the standings.

Pretoria Callies 1-1 Baroka FC

Baroka FC's incositent form continued after drawing 1-1 with Pretoria Callies on Sunday afternoon.

The home side got the breakthrough inside the first half, but Bakgaka managed to secure themselves a point thanks to Dan Ndlovu's equaliser.

Polokwane City got their title charge back on track after defeating Magesi FC 1-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Francis Baloyi got the game's only goal, which consolidated top spot in the first division for another week. 

JDR Stars 1-1 NB La Masia

JDR Stars and La Masia could not be separated after playing to a 1-1 draw at the Giant Stadium.

Ishmael Wadi bagged the opening goal for the home side in the first half, while Shane Saralina got the equaliser for La Masia.

Black Leopards 2-2 University of Pretoria

Black Leopards' push for survival took another blow after drawing 2-2 with Univeristy of Pretoria at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

Ayanda Mvambi and Kamohelo Pheeane were on target for the visitors, who have slipped to eighth spot on the table.

Leopards, meanwhile, remain rooted to the bottom, two points adrift of 15th place.

Venda Football Academy 2-1 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila

Venda Football Academy made it two wins in a row after defeating Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 2-1 on Friday afternoon.

Kgothatso Mariba opened the scoring for the hosts on five minutes, before Issa Sarr levelled matters for the away side in the 81st minute.

With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Rotonswa Mutsivhuli popped up with the winning goal for Venda in the second minute of time added on.

Platinum City 0-0 Hungry Lions

Hungry Lions' push for promotion suffered a blow after playing to a goalless draw on Friday afternoon.
