Platinum City Rovers 0-2 Pretoria Callies

League leaders Platinum City Rovers tasted their very first defeat in the Championship as basement dwellers Pretoria Callies recorded a shock 2-0 win on Saturday.

The responsible parties to Rovers' loss and first win for Callies were former Kaizer Chiefs man Edmore Chirambadare and Mhlengi Cele, who netted in the first half.

Free State Stars 0-0 Cape Town Spurs

Free State Stars moved to third spot and two points adrift Rovers with a goalless draw against the winless Cape Town Spurs.

Worryingly for Spurs, the outfit from the Western Cape dropped into the bottom-two as this stalemate followed a 1-1 encounter midweek against Hungry Lions FC.

Richards Bay FC 1-1 Venda Football Academy

Richards Bay overturned a run of two straight losses with a 1-1 draw at home to the Venda Football Academy, who claimed a third successive draw.

Former Chiefs man Sakhile Hlongwa registered first for Richards three minutes in, but it lasted just two minutes as ex-Baroka forward Ranga Chivaviro gave Venda a response and ultimate stalemate.

Jomo Cosmos dropped down the foot of the table following a disappointing 1-0 loss against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

JDR Stars 2-3 Polokwane City

Polokwane City maintained their hunt for a top-flight return following an entertaining 3-2 victory over JDR Stars on Sunday to go second on the table.

It is back-to-back victories for the Rise and Shine following Wednesday's triumph over Richards Bay FC, while goals from Ishmael Wadi and Tapuwa Madinyenya couldn't get Stars out of sight.

Black Leopards 0-0 University of Pretoria

Black Leopards were reduced to yet another stalemate against the University of Pretoria in Thohoyandou.

This was Lidoda Duvha's second in a row following their midweek clash against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC, whilst AmaTuks smarted from a loss to Cape Town All Stars.

TS Sporting 1-1 Uthongathi FC

Uthongathi FC bounced back from a midweek loss to the league leaders Platinum City Rovers with a 1-1 draw against TS Sporting.

It was the visiting side that drew first blood through Thato Mohlamme, but Sporting returned in the second half and levelled courtesy of Langelihle Ndlovu.
