Orlando Pirates will be gunning for top spot in their CAF Confederation Cup group when they host Al-Ittihad on Sunday evening at Orlando Stadium.
Teams: Orlando Pirates v Al-Ittihad
Date: 03 April 2022
Venue: Orlando Stadium
Time: 18h00
Pirates qualified for the Confederation Cup quarter-finals with a match to spare after defeating Saoura 2-0 away before the international break.
The Buccaneers are two points clear at the top of Group B and need to at least avoid defeat to finish as group winners and be seeded in the quarter-finals draw.
Al-Ittihad, on the other hand, boosted their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over Royal Leopards the last time out.
The Libyan outfit, as a result, leapfrogged Saoura in second place by three points and need to avoid defeat to book their spot in the knockout stages.
Al-Ittihad will qualify even if they lose and Saoura don't get maximum points against Royal Leopards but the Algerian side have a better head-to-head record over them and Al-Ittihad will crash out if they lose and Saoura beat the eSwatini outfit.
The Libyan side also have a chance of topping the group if they complete a double over Pirates after beating them 3-2 in the reverse fixture.
