Polokwane City will lock to bounce back from their MTN8 exit when they hosts SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership this afternoon.
Rise and Shine were denied a first-ever MTN8 final berth after losing to Highlands Park on penalties five days ago.
Heading back tot he league, Rise and Shine have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, which was made even better after beating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 last weekend.
As a result, Polokwane find themselves in second spot, but a draw or a win will see them leapfrog Chiefs at the top.
While Polokwane suffered cup heartbreak on Tuesday, it was the opposite for SuperSport, who defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 to advance to their third straight MTN8 final on Wednesday night.
Kaitano Tembo's troops have not tasted defeat since losing to Sundowns on the opening weekend of the season, although their last league encounter ended in a 3-3 draw with Cape Town City.
