Teams: Cape Town City v Maritzburg United
Date: 25 October 2019
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Cape Town City will be desperate to get on the winning trail when they host Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership encounter this evening.
The Citizens have not been enjoying the last couple of months as they have failed to win their last eight across all competitions, the last of which as a penalty shoot-out loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout.
As a result of their poor form, Benni McCarthy's troops find themseleves in 10th position, one spot ahead of tonight's due to a superior goal difference.
While City have been on a downward spiral, the Team of Choice look to be on the rise after winning their last three encounters in all competitions.
Maritzburg's last encounter also ended with a penalty shoot-out as they defeated Bidvest Wits to advance to the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals.
The statistics do make good reading for City though, as the men from Cape Town are unbeaten in their last four matches against Maritzburg.
