Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane has commented on coach Rulani Mokwena's statement that the talismanic midfielder could be used sparingly to preserve him for what is expected to be a long season for the Brazilians.

Every season since the 2014/15 campaign, Zwane has been one of Sundowns' most consistent players, making 30 or more appearances in every single season.
While he remains a pivotal part of the Sundowns setup, 'Mshishi' could be used in a slightly different capacity according to the club's head coach Mokwena.
Having turned 34 earlier this month, Mokwena has emphasized the need to protect the Tembisa-born star because of the rigours of the season in which Sundowns are set to partake in six competitions.
Zwane was hauled off in the 67th minute of their match against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday and speaking to the media at the MTN8 launch, he has opened up on his reduced role.
"Obviously as a player, you just want to see yourself on the pitch and helping the team, but you also need to understand the situation that you are in. At the moment, I'm understanding the situation and I'm trying to respect the coach's decision," he said.
