Who wins the Premiership title race between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns could be defined by the depth in quality, according to Teko Modise.
Pirates dropped points and lost for the first time in the league in a 1-0 defeat to Stellenbsoch on Sunday, after their taxing travelling and high intensity game against CR Belouizdad during that week.
The Buccaneers head coach was somewhat questioned on why he did not make changes in his squad, to provide the fresh legs.
Not making any changes after a win in Algeria, also raised question marks on whether Pirates have depth to juggle the CAF Champions League tournament with the domestic games.

According to former Sundowns and Pirates midfielder Teko Modise, Masandawana stand a better chance in the title race due to their depth in quality.
"I don't think there's a formula to find solutions to it. Because you can't control the challenges of travelling. People tend to forget that even players that are [travelling] and not playing, they still have then same fatigue as the players that are playing," Modise said on The Pitchside Podcast.
"People speak of depth but what is depth, if you don't have depth in quality? We're the only team [Sundowns], I believe and if somebody feels some type of way, I want him to prove it. We're the only team that has depth in quality.
"When those fixtures are coming thick and fast, travelling, we're the only team that can change the whole 11 and still stand a chance to win a game [locally] and we need to take advantage of that fact and the time will come, that's when Sundowns will prove how strong they are," Modise added.

Sundowns dropped two points after they rotated the team that lost against Magesi in the Carling Knockout against Maniema Union in their opening CAF Champions League group encounter.
The Brazilians and the Buccaneers are equal on 21 points in the Premiership standings, with Masandawana topping the log on goal difference.
