Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine De Reuck is set to complete a loan move to Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Petah Tikva for the remainder of the season.
The move, which includes an option for an outright purchase, marks a new chapter for the 27-year-old, whose future at Sundowns had become increasingly uncertain in light of the club's upcoming signing of Argentine defender Lucas Suarez.
De Reuck, who has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Sundowns' starting line-up, looked set to face even more competition with the anticipated arrival of Suarez. The 29-year-old will join Sundowns on a season-long loan from Talleres, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

This development has raised concerns for De Reuck's chances of securing significant game time, as Sundowns' defensive line-up is already packed with established players such as Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, and Mosa Lebusa.
The defender's time at Sundowns has been limited, with De Reuck only featuring in six matches across all competitions during the past season. A combination of fierce competition for places and a lengthy injury setback has made it difficult for him to secure a starting spot.
With the potential addition of Suarez, it appears that De Reuck's prospects at Sundowns would have become even more slim.
This has led to speculation regarding De Reuck's future, with SuperSport United amongst those reportedly interested in bringing him in. However, for now, De Reuck will spend the remainder of the season with Maccabi Petah Tikva, where he will hope to make a strong impression and potentially open the door for further opportunities.
