Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has outlined that he harbours ambitions to be an assistant coach to Cape Town Spurs' Ernst Middendorp.
Sundowns, who remain unbeaten in the DStv Premiership, dropped points with a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United on Tuesday in the Tshwane derby.

Known for being strict and outspoken, Middendorp recently indicated that coaches in the country don't act like colleagues to one another but Mokwena hopes he is considered as one by the German mentor.
Speaking to journalists after the draw, Mokwena explained why he has aspirations to be an assistant coach to Middendorp.
"Still, one of my dreams is to be Ernst Middendorp's assistant. Really, it's one of my dreams.
"I phone him a lot, he knows I phone him just to talk to him because I like him. I like how he sees, like how he thinks...
"Sees things and since he has come back, you know he had that stint in Thailand," Mokwena told the members of the media after his side's clash with SuperSport.

The manner in which Middendorp puts situations at ease and how he sees things, has interested Mokwena, who reiterates his desire to sit alongside him on the bench in the future.
"His way of seeing things is amazing and it's still one of my dreams to be his assistant coach.
"I must tell you, and he said something the other day... He doesn't think we have colleagues in South Africa. I hope he considers me a colleague because I really admire him so much," Mokwena said.
Sundowns' programme remains busy as Mokwena shift the focus to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup where Masandawana will face Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Maritzburg United.
