Mamelodi Sundowns have missed out on the domestic knockout competitions, but the Siya crew understands that there won't be any leniency should they fail to claim the big fish - the Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League.
Head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has been under pressure just a few months since taking over from Rulani Mokwena and it increased recently when they lost to Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout, which was followed up by an underwhelming goalless draw on home soil against Maniema Union in their first Champions League group stage match.

Sundowns, however, got back to winning ways in the Premiership with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sekhukhune United, usurping Orlando Pirates at the summit. The victory eased some pressure on the shoulders of Mngqithi, but there is still a long way to go in the season.
The Tshwane giants play their second Champions League group game, away from home against Moroccan outfit AS FAR. Sundowns will be under pressure to win the match after dropping points in their opening match.
According to information received by the Siya crew, Sundowns management believes the team can go all the way in the Champions League and heads would roll if the team were to bomb out in the group stages.

The Premiership race looks set to be tighter than the last few seasons for Sundowns, with Orlando Pirates determined to get their hands on the title. Should Mngqithi miss out on the domestic title, indications are that he is unlikely to be in the position next season.
