Agent Mike Makaab has revealed that there is another option in Rivaldo Coetzee's contract and time will tell on what happens beyond the end of this season, especially as he recovers from injury.
After the end of last season, Sundowns exercised the option in Coetzee's contract, keeping him for another season. There is a second option in the contract and a decision on his future with the reigning Premiership champions is only expected to be made in 2025.

Coetzee made a good start to the campaign, with head coach Manqoba Mngqithi revealing how valuable he is to the side. Mngqithi has played him in both central defence and midfield, but the player suffered a major blow when he picked up an injury that was meant to sideline him for a month.
It's unclear, though, if the player will make a return to the pitch before the end of the year, but his camp is not too worried in terms of what the future holds for him at Sundowns.
"No, we are not concerned. There is an option in his contract. They have another option. I think he was unfortunate with the injury. It's not as if it was an injury that was reoccurring. He is a talented footballer and we've seen his value at Mamelodi Sundowns," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"They (Sundowns) persevere when they believe in certain things and they've always believed in Riva and they've persevered with him during the difficult times. On the other hand, I know Riva is incredibly grateful to Sundowns for the support they have given him, but it's a two way street. If you have a look at his influence as a footballer when he plays and the sort of results they have achieved with him playing, I think it definitely works both ways."
