After eight years at the club, having come through the development ranks, Chiefs parted ways with Blom, who will be joining MLS outfit St Louis City.
Now, with a number of players like Khama Billiat, Itumeleng Khune, Eric Mathoho, Phathushedzo Nange and Sifiso Hlanti nearing the last six months of their contracts with Amkahosi, Motaung says harsh decisions will have to be made regarding these players.
"[There] are serious (decisions) for us to make. I mean players who have been there with us for years and set the foundation. Our new players have come in and done a good job, but certainly what has been done with our youth is incredible to [Molefe] Ntseki and the team, they've done an incredible job, so for me I am excited," she told journalists at a press conference hosted by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, held in Sandton.
"But at the same time, you can't beat experience, it's about a combination and a blend and that's something that we as a team understand. Because you don't want to put pressure on the young guys but at the same time you don't want to discount the experience and older players.
"I think we are able to work closely as a youth academy as well as a senior team to ensure that the plan works for us. There'll be mistakes, there'll be things we do right but certainly for me it's about a combination of things, it's not either or," she concluded.
