When Kaizer Chiefs' coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team joined the club at the beginning of the season, they emphasized the importance of focusing on team-building, cautioning against expecting immediate success from a club that hasn't won a trophy in nearly a decade.
Assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has acknowledged that building a strong team could take up to a year, given the influx of new players this season.

Speaking to journalists during a media open day at Chiefs Village in Naturena, Youssef explained that the PSL is a new experience for their technical staff, and time is needed to implement their strategies effectively.
"It is taking time. So even in life you can see whether the project is positive or negative. Only after one year then you can decide your project. We are new in the league as a technical bench and the team has changed from last season. Maybe there are three or four players who were playing last season. So for that we need time to make everything right. I think the players have made a lot of improvement. They have tried to make it right in every game," Youssef observed.

The Tunisian-born mentor also highlighted key issues the team is addressing to enhance performance.
"The problem is the last third. We make it for progression. All the players know what to do. Only in the last third. The last third does not only depend on the coach's training. There are a lot of things. There is the quality of the players. The decision of the players. It depends on the players. If they make it right then things will work out for us as a team," Youssef concluded.
Amakhosi's next game is against Sekhukhune United on Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with kickoff at 15h30.
