The story
After Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Manqoba Mngqithi announced the acquisition of striker Iqraam Rayners from Stellenbosch FC in a press-conference on Sunday, the sharp-shooter received a positive welcome from his teammates.
Rayners was spotted at Sundowns' training base at Chloorkop and although the club are yet to officially confirm his arrival, Teboho Mokoena posted a video of him and Grant Kekana hyping up the striker for joining the reigning league champions.
Rayners enjoyed a standout 2023/24 season, leading the Cape Winelands team's push for CAF Confederation Cup qualification with 15 league goals, with his five-goal haul against Polokwane City being his standout showing.
His impressive goalscoring form earned him a spot in Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe in June.
