The story
Former Ivorian sharp-shooter, Salomon Kalou, was spotted wearing a celebratory Kaizer Chiefs jersey on his Instagram on Sunday.
The 38-year-old, who is still playing professional football with AS Arta Solar 7 in Djibouti, was poolside as he rocked the Kaizer Chiefs 50th anniversary jersey.
Kaizer Chiefs' special commemorative jersey, released in January 2020 to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary, with the classy black and gold design paying tribute to the Amakhosi's formative years in the 1970s.
The all-black jersey, with its stunning gold detailing not only paid tribute to Chiefs' formative years in the 70s but it also a nod to the city of gold, Johannesburg.
"The club was very clear and deliberate with Nike when it came to the design and significance of the new 50th jersey, which pays tribute to the club's strong heritage and rich history," explained Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung at the time of its release.

Kalou is known to be friends with Kaizer Chiefs legend, Siphiwe Tshabalala, as both ballers were seen doing ambassadorial work for CAF at this year's Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.
