Ahead of Bafana Bafana's friendly against Namibia on Saturday, star forward Percy Tau has switched up his hairstyle. Check it out!
What's the story?
Al Ahly star Percy Tau is primed and ready for the Namibians this weekend after changing up his usual look.
The ex-Masandawana is known for growing out his hair to a medium length, which has become a trademark look for him, and has now gotten rid of all of it!

Let's take a closer look...
Tau's "Grootman" look
In a picture shared on Bafana Bafana's Twitter page, Percy Tau is sporting a new look!
The 29-year-old has rocked medium-length hairstyles as well as his signature mini dreadlocks in the past but is now leaning more towards shorter hair.
His trademark dreads look is closely linked to his "Lion of Judah" nickname and revealed the fact in an interview with Al Ahly back in 2021:
"I think the reason behind my nickname is because of my surname and my hair; 'Tau' means lion in South Africa," he revealed at the time.

Tau has reverted back what he regards as the "Grootman" look, which is basically a chiskop, a South African colloquial term for a bald/clean shave hairstyle.

Upon Bafana Bafana's visit to the Thaba Jabula Senior Secondary School, Tau explained to Romy Titus what inspired his bald look:
"I always try and do something different. I mean I did it in the previous season where I shaved by head. I don't know people always have this belief that I'm taking away my powers, no, the powers come from God," says Tau.
"Nothing is being taken away, it's just a different look for the new season, and yeah, I'm reaching 30 and I need to change the look a little bit and be a Grootman," jokes the Bafana star.
A fan in the comments jokingly compared him to Springbok rugby player Makazole Mapimpi, while another claimed that Tau's new look is inspired by his in-form teammate, Zakhele Lepasa.
It's not the first time Tau's gone fully bald. The Lion of Judah shaved his mini dreads around November last year and has been slowly growing his hair back to its usual length before deciding to go full Grootman.
