The story
Friendship and football takes Mamelodi Sundowns to Uganda, where they'll visit the country's football federation, goalkeeper Denis Onyango's former club and hopefully inspire a new generation of ballers for The Cranes.
Mamelodi Sundowns took to social media to announce what they've dubbed as the first leg of our African Tour, which will not only serve as a trip to mold a relationship with Ugandan football but also to pay tribute to honour the PSL's most decorated goalkeeper.
"Through friendship and football clinics, the goal is to give back to football loving countries across the continent," read Sundowns' announcement, with the tour set to kick off on Thursday, 20 March.
The weekend-long visit will see Masandawana visiting Ntanda College, a school in the Butambala District that's approximately 68 kilometers south of the capital city, Kampala.
On Friday, Downs are scheduled for a visit to The Federation of Uganda Football Associations headquarters in Kampala before visiting Onyango's first professional club, SC Villa.
The tour will be wrapped up with a clinic at the Hamz Stadium also in Kampala, where Onyango hails from.
The 11-time league winner will likely receive a heroes welcome at his hometown club, a team he left in 2005 to join Ethiopian Premier League side, Kidus Giorgis SA. He stayed there for a year before signing for SuperSport United in 2006, winning three league titles.
