The story
The hotly anticipated Soweto Derby is edging ever closer, a fixture that's regarded as the biggest in the league and one of the most prominent on the African continent.
The in-form Orlando Pirates will host Kaizer Chiefs at a sold-out FNB Stadium this Saturday afternoon, in what promises to be an enthralling encounter for both sets of players and supporters.
To build-up to the humdinger of a clash, we reflect on two of finest anniversary kits produced by the Soweto giants since the 90s.
From Orlando Pirates 1997 classic to Amakhosi's 50th birthday stunner, these kits forever live long in the memory of both The Happy People and the Khosi Nation.

Orlando Pirates Home 60th Anniversary kit (1997/1998)
A kit donned by the likes of Jerry Sikhosana, Helman Mkhalele, John Moeti and Gavin Lane among other legendary Buccaneers, the 1997/98 jersey is simply one of Orlando Pirates' finest.
The jersey not only commemorated the club's 60th anniversary but also ushered in the club's longstanding partnership with adidas, that's grown from strength to strength.
This work of art features a white base and black details on the sleeves and collars, with intricate patterns of adidas' three stripes and trefoil logo that's made a comeback of late.
Kaizer Chiefs special 40th Anniversary Kit (2010/2011)
This special Away kit from the Glamour Boys marked the club's 40th year of existence, with Nike pulling off one of the PSL's all-time great kit designs.
Siphiwe Tshabalala, Mandla Masango and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are the names that spring to mind when thinking about this beauty and saw Chiefs lifting the Telkom Knockout that season.
The jersey came in predominately black with the club crest, sponsors, collar and sleeves all displayed in the classic Amakhosi bright yellow.

A simply stunning shirt, and features some nice little details.
A couple of my favourite Amakhosi players were in their prime back then too, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.#Amakhosi4Life????? @KaizerChiefs pic.twitter.com/kJ5VXe5TuK
