Lionel Messi's watch
Messi is known for being a down-to-earth character, who isn't about the flash and certainly isn't regarded as one of football's many fashion-forward stars.
Seeing the 35-year-old megastar with a subtle and elegant watch from a highly-regarded but underrated Swiss watch maker, reminded us of his whispering wealth and how it can make as much of a fashion statement as wearing a flashy luxury piece from a more well known brand like Dior, or even a Rolex.
Messi's white gold Patek Philippe Nautilus watch is valued at over R4.2 million according to Chrono24.co.za.
Patek Phillippe Nautilus watches have been fusing sports and luxury since 1976. Messi's watch is water-resistant to 120 mitres and it reflects its affinity with the original Nautilus from 46 years ago.
