CAF Confederation Cup
Result: Free State Stars 0-0 Mukura
Date: 28 November 2018
Venue: Bidvest Stadium
Free State Stars and Rwandan outfit Mukura Victory Sport could not be separated in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie.
The clash did not take place at Stars' usual home ground, Goble Park, as the two sides clashed at the Bidvest Stadium.
David Vilakazi and Sly Mosala oversaw coaching duties on the day as Ea Lla Koto have not yet appointed a new head coach following the departure of Luc Eymael.
The visitors managed to carve out an opening in the early stages, with striker Onesme Twizerimana firing wide of the mark from close range.
Ea Lla Koto, meanwhile, hardly threatened the opposition goalkeeper as the sides went into the halftime break level pegging.
However, the second 45 minutes did not fare any better as neither side could find a goal as the first leg encounter ended goalless in Johannesburg.
The second leg is scheduled to take place in Rwanda on Wednesday, 5 December at 15h00 with the tie evenly poised.
The men from the Free State will not be involved in Absa Premiership action this weekend, and will have a week to prepare for next week's second leg.
