South African clubs have earned themselves the respect of Horoya AC coach Lamine N'Diaye, after the clash against AmaZulu in the CAF Champions League.
The Guinean side has struggled to secure a win against South African opponents in the continental competitions, falling to SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Senegalese coach is one of the most respected coaches on the continent, tasting success with TP Mazembe in 2010 when he won the Champions League and Super Cup.
N'Diaye, speaking after his side's 1-0 loss to AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium, says there is a huge improvement in South African teams in recent years.
"South African teams are improving, last season we were knocked out by Kaizer Chiefs, tonight we were beaten by AmaZulu, they are really improving," N'Diaye told the media.
"They have a good stadium and they are investing in their teams. They are taking it seriously now. Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have taken this cup and Kaizer Chiefs lost in the final last year.
"Today, they have two teams in the group stages again. It shows that South African teams are really improving in the CAF Champions League."
