English football governing bodies announced last Thursday that all professional leagues will stay suspended until at least 30 April due to the coronavirus outbreak.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Premier League is eyeing 1 June as the date when league action will resume, with all remaining matches to be played in a time frame of just six weeks.
The Football Association is understood to be determined to complete the 2019/20 season, and it seems more and more likely that Premier League and Football League matches could be played behind closed doors.

It is understood that the same applies to the FA Cup as concluding both competitions would satisfy key broadcasting partners BT Sport and Sky Sports.
It would also allow the 2020/21 season to start on its proposed date of 8 August, even though there would be only a four-week break between both campaigns.
Liverpool need just six more points to secure their first league title since 1990, which means they could potentially secure the trophy on the first or second weekend of June if the league action does indeed resume on 1 June.
The proposed plan still needs to be approved by the government to allow the presence of emergency crews in the grounds, with England currently under a lockdown.
