Three. More. Wins

Liverpool fans get SUCH bad press. 'Entitled', 'loud', 'glory hunters', 'plastic' have been bandied about. I'll acknowledge that people are drawn to success like Man Utd to noodle sponsors, but for the veterans out there who've endured so much agony since 1990 (apart from the FA Cups in 1992 and 2006, the League Cups in 1995, 2001, 2003 and 2012, the Champions leagues in 2005 and 2019, the Europa League in 2001, the Super Cups in 2005 and 2019, and the Club World Cup in 2019) it's been a pretty lean time. :)This season has been statistically remarkable, but stressful. One goal margins have been the norm (yes, yes...Watford, blah, blah, blah) and play has certainly been streaky, despite that spine of Allison, Virgil and Fab/Hendo. I remind myself that all the successful teams in my lifetime have had to do things the hard way - although success seems to have come with relatively little sweat at Manchester City (Aguerooooooooooooooo! moment aside). SAF's United were a juggernaut in terms of success but they were seldom peerless on the field ( I mean Fergie Time is hardly a journalistic fantasy). Even Arsene's Arsenal, apart from the Invincibles, endured their ropey moments. So, if that elusive number n-n-n-n-n-nineteen comes along, and my pacemaker lasts the remaining nine games, and James Milner keeps making last-ditch acrobatic look-ma-no-hands saves, I'll privately scream like a Munch painting, down a Moët, bask in the warm glow of the knowledge that people who think the Premiership is a separate achievement from winning the top flight until 1992 can shut it for a bit, and calmly retire from watching football. Until August. :)
