Marca has reported that Real's players do not need to commit to any temporary pay cuts in line with Spain's temporary redundancy scheme (ERTE) due to the club's healthy financial situation.
Los Blancos' staff wages do not make up more than 50% of the club's overall budget, while Barcelona spend up to 80% of their budget on salaries.
As a consequence, Real's stars can continue to earn their lofty wages, while Barca's stars have agreed to accept a 70% pay cut and also cover the salaries of the rest of the club's employees.
