Former Inter Milan and Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez believes the round of 16 UEFA Champions League clash between the two European giants will be far more closely fought than many may think.

The Spaniard, who managed the Reds to a famous UCL triumph in 2005 and the Nerazzurri to FIFA Club World Cup glory in 2011, has insisted the tussle between the two teams on Wednesday will not be dominated by the red half of Merseyside.
"Inter did not reach the second round by chance: they are a team that always knows what to do on the pitch and is good at taking advantage of the weaknesses of others," Benitez told Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.
"[Simone Inzaghi's] 3-5-2 is a module that can create difficulties for teams that are not used to facing him.
"On the other hand, however, there is a Liverpool with an offensive 4-3-3, which makes aggression and intensity its best weapons.
"Both have the quality and technique to hold the ball and make the others run."
Benitez did highlight the danger Liverpool's front four pose, though, specifically Diogo Jota.
"I would be worried by them, but also by Diogo Jota because he always makes the right moves and reaches the goal with great ease," the former Valencia manager added.
Jurgen Klopp's men will be heading to the San Siro for the second time in the UEFA Champions League this season, but will be facing Inter for the first time since the 2007/08 edition of the tournament.
On that occasion, the Premier League club won the second leg in Italy through a Fernando Torres goal and advanced to the quarter-finals by winning 3-0 on aggregate.
Ancelotti: 4-Time UCL Winner Will Leave
