It was the Bruno Fernandes show at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, as Manchester United thrashed Watford 3-0 to boost their top-four hopes.
Mason Greenwood, David de Gea and Fernandes made a return for the Red Devils, who looked to take advantage of Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United's slip-ups on Saturday.
After a quiet start to the first half, the Red Devils went close to pulling ahead in th 18th minute but Daniel James was only able to hit the side-netting from close range.
There were a couple scary moments for the United defence early in the first half, but the likes of Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu were unable to take advantage in the 18-yard area.
United were then awarded a penalty five minutes before the break after Ben Foster's foul on Fernandes, who stepped up and calmly slot home from 12-yards out to secure his first goal for the club.
Watford had the ball in the back of the net six minutes after the halftime break through Troy Deeney's close-range effort but the strike was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee for a handball by Craig Dawson.
United then doubled the lead shortly after as Martial netted for a third straight encounter with a superb finish from a tight angle after he was initially denied by Foster after being played in Fernandes.
The hosts managed to grab a third goal with 15 minutes left in the contest as Fernandes turned provider once again to pick out Greenwood, who placed one into the top corner.
Second-half substitutes Odion Ighalo and Tahith Chong went close to adding to the lead late in the game, but 3-0 was how the encounter ended as United moved up to fifth spot, three points behind Chelsea.
