The Football Association made a big announcement on Thursday evening, and it could be bad news for Liverpool as it could be a sign the current Premier League campaign will be voided without any champions.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis and rising number of cases and deaths in England, the FA decided to cancel the National Leagues from tiers three to six, as well as all amateur football.
For those leagues, the 2019/20 campaign will be declared null and void without promotion and relegation.
"The NLS and the women's football pyramid were able to build a consensus amongst their leagues and, where possible, aimed to create a consistent approach across all leagues, whilst taking into account the unique characteristics of each individual league," a statement from the FA read.

"As a result, The FA and NLS steps three to six have reached a consensus that their 2019/20 season will now be brought to an end, and all results will be expunged. This will mean no promotion or relegation of clubs between NLS steps three to six, and no promotion to NLS step two."
The NLS tier one and two are yet to determine the outcomes of their leagues, as are Premier League, Championship and the two other leagues of professional English football, which have been postponed indefinitely.
Some believe this could be a sign that the FA will make the same decision regarding those leagues, and cancel the season without champions, promotion and relegation if football cannot resume.

This step, though, still seems to be some way off, with the FA also announcing that they hope to complete the FA Cup and youth FA Cup campaigns, stating "we will do all we can to keep the Wembley dream alive".
