A LaLiga star, who was born in Africa but represents a European country, is believed to be in trouble with his club after breaking Spain's strict lockdown rules.
Celta Vigo winger Pione Sisto drove 26 hours and approximately 2 830km to get back to Denmark sometime between last week Friday and this past weekend.
The player only informed his club of his whereabouts once he had arrived in Denmark, where he was raised from when he was about two months old after being born in Kampala, Uganda.
Sisto is believed to have made his decision to head home after the Spanish government announced the lockdown would be extended until 11 April, amid the coronavirus crisis worsening in the country.
ESPN reported that the 25-year-old told Celta he was in Denmark only once he got there, with the club since revealing that the matter will be dealt with internally.
Authorities in Spain have pleaded with citizens to not travel unless it is essential, and that fines for those who breach instructions will start at €600 (R11 924).
