Bafana Bafana have advanced to the quarter-final stage of the competition thanks to goals from Orlando Pirates forward Evidence Makgopa and Mamelodi Sundowns' Teboho Mokoena.
As Morocco pushed for an equaliser after South Africa's opener, captain Ronwen Williams and his teammates held on strong to book their place among the final eight, where they will go up against Cape Verde this weekend.
Discussing his team's heroics, Broos admitted that beating Africa's No.1-ranked country has made their victory even sweeter.
"I don't think I have to tell you I am very happy," he told the media in his post-match press conference.
"We beat Morocco, and it is not only because we are in the quarterfinals (that I am happy), beating a team like Morocco is something special.
"This (Morocco) is a very good team, with very good players. But we did the right analysis, and I think the way we played, our tactics were right."
Speaking on how Bafana overcame the Atlas Lions, the Belgian heaped praise onto his players for the discipline they showed throughout the encounter.
"I didn't do it. It was the players who did it. I can just tell the players what they have to do," he added.
"Every coach hopes that what he is telling the players is the right thing.
"Until now, it was not always the right thing. But also because the players did what we asked."
