Inter Milan 4-0 Viktoria Plzen

Inter Milan advanced to the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League after defeating Viktoria Plzen 4-0 at the San Siro.

Edin Dzeko and Matteo Darmian returned to the Inter starting line-up, while Romelu Lukaku was named on the bench after his return from injury.

The Serie A giants dominated from the onset but were left frustrated by Plzen goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek, who pulled off a few superb saves in the opening 25 minutes.

The Italian giants did get their reward on 35 minutes when Henrikh Mkhitaryan nodded home a cross from Alessandro Bastoni at the far post.

The lead was doubled three minutes before the halftime break when Federico Dimarco broke free down the left flank and picked out Dzeko, who made no mistake from close range.

Dzeko bagged his second and Inter's third goal in the 66th minute with a lovely finish, before Lukaku wrapped up the scoring in the 86th minute with a sweeping finish just minutes after his introduction.

Club Brugge 0-4 FC Porto

FC Porto boosted their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 with a 4-0 thrashing of Group B leaders Club Brugge.

Brugge had already secured qualification on match day four after an impressive start to the campaign, while Porto could earn their spot with a win this evening.

The Portuguese outfit got the breakthrough in the 33rd minute when Mehdi Taremi curled the ball into the far corner after being set up by Otavio.

Brugge had a chance to pull themselves level six minutes after the break from the penalty spot, but Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa pulled off the save.

Porto extended their advantage in the second half, with Evanilson getting the second on 57 minutes before Stephen Eustáqui grabbed the third goal three minutes later.

Taremi rounded off the scoring for Porto with his second goal of the match on 70 minutes, as Porto cemented second spot heading into matchday six.
