Al Ittihad were initially said to be willing to wait until the end of the 2023/24 campaign to bring the two-time CAF Men's Player of the Year in, but because they are preparing to compete in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, it is claimed they want to bolster their squad as much as possible in an effort to be more competitive in the tournament.
