Throughout that time, Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his star player is not for sale and will not be leaving Merseyside in this transfer window.

The Saudi juggernauts are rumoured to be willing to offer the Reds a transfer fee of $162 million (R3 billion) for the winger, but while Salah may have given the green light on a move to the Middle East, the same report claims that he will not force his way out of Liverpool, and would only leave if his manager approves the deal.

Al Ittihad were initially said to be willing to wait until the end of the 2023/24 campaign to bring the two-time CAF Men's Player of the Year in, but because they are preparing to compete in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, it is claimed they want to bolster their squad as much as possible in an effort to be more competitive in the tournament.
