Los Blancos failed to offload midfielder Lucas Silva during the latest transfer window, but have now released him as a free agent, according to AS.
The Brazilian leaves the Spanish giants after four years, during which he only made nine first team appearances before a heart condition was detected in 2016.
He joined Real from Cruzeiro in January 2015, and moved to Olympique Marseille on loan six months later, but his poor performances cost him a place in the Brazil squad for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Sporting Lisbon were interested in taking him on loan during the transfer window ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, but a medical detected a cardiac arrhythmia, which saw the deal collapse and led to him being sidelined for a few months.
However, he did recover and returned to Real training in October 2016, but never really made the cut at the Santiago Bernabeu.
An 18-month loan to Cruzeiro followed, but Silva returned to the club after the 2018/19 campaign.
AS has claimed he had no work permit to play in Spain, and was not even allowed to train at Real's facilities in Valdebebas, but was instead training alone in Aravaca.
