Real Madrid have reportedly refused Carlo Ancelotti's latest signing request after the club formalised the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick earlier this month.

In a recent interview, the experienced Italian manager declared the transfer window closed for the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners.
The Spanish giants welcomed forwards Mbappe and Endrick to the Santiago Bernabeu this month, with both the France captain and Brazil wonderkid getting their own unveilings at the club's iconic and recently revamped stadium.
It appears, however, as if no new additions will be made to Ancelotti's squad. According to The Athletic, the 65-year-old desired the acquisition of a new central defender, but had his request rejected by president Florentino Perez.
The coach's wishes were denied despite the long-term injuries David Alaba and Eder Militao suffered last season, and after their failed pursuit of 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro.
Following rumours that the French defender preferred a move to Madrid over England, Real's refusal to match Manchester United's offer saw Yoro pen a five-year contract with the Red Devils instead.
With Alaba set to begin the new campaign on the sidelines, it appears Militao and Antonio Rudiger will be Ancelotti's first-choice defensive duo, with Aurelien Tchouameni an option for that position too.

Loan returnee Jesus Vallejo, meanwhile, is also currently injured, but is reportedly set to spend the 2024/25 season at the club.
