The French coach is said to be desperate to bring Manchester United's Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernabeu, but the English club's massive €200 million (R3.4 billion) asking price has made things very difficult.
Pogba did suggest that it might be time for a "new challenge" earlier in the window, but it now seems he will not push for an exit from Old Trafford before the European transfer deadline on 2 September.

Ajax Amsterdam's Donny van de Beek and Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen have been identified as alternatives to Pogba, according to Marca. Zidane, however, does not seem to be keen on either, and is still holding out for his compatriot.
