FC Barcelona legend Dani Alves has surprisingly named a wonderkid from his former rivals Real Madrid as the best young player in the world.

Alves, who made 391 appearances during an eight-season spell at Barca, was speaking to the Business Insider when he was asked who he thought was the most promising footballer in the world.
"I would have to say Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid." Alves replied.
"There are some players that are born with the talent and for sure he is one of them.

"I had the chance to watch him play closely, with the Brazil national team – I'm positive we will see and hear a lot more about him soon."
Los Blancos signed Vinicius from Flamengo in 2018 for a staggering €46 million (R758 million), and the Brazil international has scored five goals in 37 appearances for the club since.

Upon making his debut for the club last year, the 20-year-old became the first player born in the year 2000 to represent the senior team.
