The club are now exploring the possibility of signing Al Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte to bolster their defensive options.
According to Saudi Arabian publication Al Yaum, the Spanish defender is now looking to terminate his contract with Al Nassr, which would pave the way for him to join Los Blancos on a free transfer.
The report adds that manager Carlo Ancelotti has already given approval for the club to sign Laporte, who played a key role in helping Spain win the European Championship.
Meanwhile, El Chiringuito have reported that Real's city rivals Atletico Madrid are now entering the race to sign the former Manchester City defender.
