According to RMC Sport writer Daniel Riolo, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is determined to stay true to his plans of seeing out the rest of his contract with the club.
Earlier this off-season, the Bondy native said he would not be triggering his one-year option to stay at the Parc des Princes. However, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi countered the forward's statement by insisting Mbappe will be sold if he does not sign a new contract.
As per Riolo, it seems that the latter is not an option for Mbappe as he plans on staying in the French capital, even if it means staying on the bench for the entire season.
"I can tell you something tonight. Mbappe will be at PSG next season," the French writer admitted, as per RMC Sport.
"Even if they [the PSG board] see this through to the end and bench him, Mbappe stays at PSG. He is ready to accept this situation.
"The guy is dragged through the mud. How did we come to this contractual situation? What is the way out? There is none. The only way for PSG is to play tough and tell Mbappe that, because he didn't renew, he will be benched all season."
