Former Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez has revealed what he told Neymar when the Brazilian wanted to leave the club to join Paris Saint-Germain, a move many, to this day, believe was a mistake.

In 2017, the winger sent shockwaves throughout European football when he pushed to leave the Catalan giants in order to join the French side.
Neymar, at the time, was considered one of the sport's best players for his contribution at Barcelona, with whom he won eight trophies following his arrival from Santos in 2013 and where he formed part of the game's most deadly front three alongside Suarez and Lionel Messi.
The transfer saga dragged on for some weeks, with players from the Blaugrana making attempts to convince him to stay in Spain, but the allure of being PSG's talisman proved too attractive to turn down.
On 3 August that year, Neymar became the world's most expensive signing in history when he signed for the Ligue 1 club in a deal worth €222 million (R4.3 billion). Six years on, however, and the 31-year-old is playing for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia following a fallout with fans in Paris.
Despite adding 13 pieces of silverware to his trophy collection while in France, Neymar was ultimately unable to inspire the team to UEFA Champions League success and was, towards the end of his stay at the Parc des Princes, an unpopular figure among the club's ultras.
Suarez, speaking recently to Placar TV on YouTube, revealed what he told his former teammate when he initially showed signs of wanting to move on from Barcelona.
"'Ney, if you want to win everything, stay here with us. Or, Neymar, go to England, it's better, to [Manchester] City, because football is better there,'" he said.
"If Neymar would've stayed at Barcelona, he would've won a Ballon d'Or, for sure."
